Anna Lin PhD,  Licensed Clinical Psychologist

I'm a licensed clinical psychologist working in Brooklyn, New York. I strive to provide a curious, balanced, open and interactive therapy experience where individuals and couples increase self-awareness, learn and practice new skills, and experience healing and growth. If we find a way to do this with humor along the way, all the better!

I use a combination of body, heart and mind centered psychotherapy approaches and base my treatment choices on what will be most beneficial and fruitful for you.

Many people consider starting therapy in the context of major life transitions: marriage, divorce, entering or graduating an academic program, career changes, the birth of a child, empty nests, and the loss of a loved one all introduce new levels of stress and can exacerbate existing concerns. As your therapist I will work to increase your capacity to become most fully and freely yourself in the service of your own specific goals and desires. If you begin to feel more at ease despite challenges big and small, we are on the right track.

Hi. I'm Anna,

the therapist is a mixed race Asian and White woman working in New York State and located in Brooklyn NY

Before becoming a psychotherapist I was a Physics professor at Duke University. At Duke I was a Research Director and taught graduate and undergraduate physics classes. I have over 30 scientific publications in peer reviewed journals and have presented my research results at national and international conferences and workshops.

I was raised in the United States by an Asian-immigrant and White-American parents and am mixed-race. I work from an awareness of how culture, ethnicity, social class, spiritual beliefs, race, sexuality and gender impact who we are and how others perceive and engage us.

I earned my PhD in Clinical Psychology from Adelphi University and my PhD in Physical Chemistry from the University of Michigan. In addition to over a decade in private practice, I have worked as a clinical psychologist in both college mental health and hospital settings. My PhD Postdoctoral training was at Barnard College Counseling Center, where I later returned and worked for several years. I've also held positions at Columbia University Medical School Counseling Center, Mount Sinai Hospital and Kings County Hospital. I have ten+ years experience supervising therapists and trainees, which I love.
